In Tampere International Salsa
Festival of 2011 top teachers from all over the world are coming to teach on 36
dance lessons from Friday to Sunday in Atalpa gym at the University. You can
choose four most interesting and suitable classes of your own level, 12 hours during
the festival is the maximum four one participant.

Couples
You can register for the salsa
festival without a partner. To make sure that the couples are even, the
regitration for couple classes that are full on the part of women, will be
closed on web site. Only the fastest ones will get to the couple classes.
Partners change all the time during the lessons. In 2011 the number of student
are controlled more than in previous years.
Levels
From the timetable under the
workshop you can see the name of the teacher, the place and time, is it a
couple or solo class and which level the class is. The level means the level of
the studets in some particular dance. In the beginners level you start from the
basics, the proceeding of the class may vary depending of the dance class, the
students and the teacher. Intermediate is suitable for dancers who already know
the basics. In the advanced level you can deepen the skill you already have and
the classes advance quicklier. In the solo classes you can choose the level
more freely than in the couple classes, everyone can dance by their own
abilities. There is also lessons that are suitable for all levels. In couple
classes it is required to know the basics of the dance in question.
Photographing
Both filming
with video camera and photographing are forbidden during the workshops. You can
ask a permission from the teacher to film the dance pattern at the end of the
lesson.
Salsa nights
Tampere International Salsa Festival
organises four dazzling salsa nights in restaurants in town:
Thursday
21.7. The welcoming evening in restaurant Kuuba (Aleksis
Kiven katu 15) at 22-01: the teachers will introduce themselves, dj Mauricio
and dj Francisco.
Friday 22.7. Festival's salsa gala in Klubi (Tullikamarin aukio 2) 22-04: Dazzling
dance performances, colourful performance outfits and passionate salsa! Dj
Neiro and Dj Fruta Bomba.
Saturday 23.7. Festival's concert in Pakkahuone
(Tullikamarin aukio 2) at 22-02, dj Lucho!
Sunday 24.7. The final salsa night of the festival at 22-01 in
Mustalahti dance pavilion (Paasikiventie 2), dj Neiro.
The entrance fees for salsa nights
can be ordered as a salsa evening pass in advance with the formvon the web page.
Theprice is cheaper untill the end of June. Also the festival pass íncludes the
entrance to all salsa nights. Single tickets to salsa nights are not sold in
advance.
Dining
The festival pass includes buffet
lunch on Saturday and Sunday at the Juvenes restaurant at the University (the
main building). There is also veggie and gluten-free option on offer. If you
don't have the festival pass, you can still buy the lunch on the spot. Between
the workshos there is a 1,5 hours lunch break between 14.00-15.30 on Saturday
and Sunday.
Equipment
Salsa Festival is organised on the
third weekend of July. As it probably will get quite hot during the classes, light
and flexible clothes are the best. Good shoes i.g. dance sneakers, which have
suitable for soles for salsa turns. You can also wear high heels but narrow
heels must be covered with rubber or other soft material. The space in the changing
rooms are unfortunately limited so we recommend you to change at least partly
the clothe at home/ hotel. You can leave you bag to a secured place near the
dance rooms during the classes. In the festival area you can buy work out
outfits and dance shoes. Salsa festival is not responsible for clothes and other
good forgotten in the premises.
Cancellations
Salsa festival will compensate 100 %
of the paid ticket if the cancellation is made at least 30 days before the
festival. If the cancellation happens after this, the festival does not refund paid
tickets. If you are uncertain about your participation, send email to the dance
school Salsa Pasión and we can arrange the payment schedule. Tampere
International Salsa Festival reserves the right to make schedule changes.
